How does the booth work?

You push the button to start the booth, and the screen will walk you though the process, with voice instructions. The camera takes a strip of four photos, spaced approximately four seconds apart. You see the resulting photo on screen, and the photos are printed and collected from the front of the booth. It's so simple your grandad will be able to work it!

Good people doing good things

From time to time we find caring people taking care of lost and abandoned animals, looking for shelter. It's these people that volunteer their time to care for others that we should give thanks to. One day these people might help you.

The holiday season is a happy time for most, but it's usually the busiest time for groups like The Humane Society, as they assist with unwanted animals received as gifts.

If you see anything or hear of anyone that doesn't want their pet, do the right thing and contact the Humane Society.

Also, if you have some spare time (or spare money), why not become a volunteer or give a donation over the holiday season? Giving back is always a good thing!

Oh, and check out the cute puppies listed on their site currently... if you are interested in giving one of these dogs a loving, forever home, give them a call.

Your family dog may be smarter than your toddler

(CNN) -- Your dog may not actually be smarter than somebody's honor student -- popular bumper stickers aside. But your canine companion might well be smarter than their toddler, according to a growing body of research on how dogs think.

Using adapted tests designed for human children, psychologists have learned that average dogs can count, reason and recognize words and gestures on par with a human 2 -year-old.

"They may not be Einsteins, but are sure closer to humans than we thought," said Stanley Coren, a professor emeritus at the University of British Columbia and leading researcher on dog behavior.
